Volunteering at Martinwood

Our volunteers are our greatest asset and without them we would not be able to provide the many experiences we do each year.

Volunteer Opportunities

No job is insignificant. Whether a volunteer works on one part of a project, helps with a fundraiser, or serves on a committee, they are all vital and necessary.  Below are areas that we utilize volunteers.  Please look them over and see if there is something that fits your skills and desire to help.

Be Part of a Martinwood Event

Much planning and preparation goes into creating an event.  Members of a team are responsible for organizing every aspect of the event which includes:

  • Meet to plan all the details of the event
  • Develop a timeline, budget, guest list, and list of everything needed to complete the event
  • Market the prevent both before and after
  • Help locate appropriate vendors and donors for the various components of the event
  • Decorate – set ip and clean up
  • Take pictures – lots of pictures
  • Write a summary of the event for the website and social media

Community Partner Development

Assist with in-kind donations, grant writing, development of business partnerships and collaborations.

Photographers and Videographers

Capturing the event is an important part of the process for both Martinwood and the families.

 Memory Makers

Help preserve the memory by creating a lasting digital photo album.

Volunteers are asked to participate in scheduled meetings and/or calls to ensure everything is going as planned.

If Martinwood sounds like the perfect place for you to volunteer, we invite you to take the next steps.

  • Complete the volunteer application
  • All volunteers are asked to attend a Volunteer Orientation. At the orientation we will go over the mission and vision for Martinwood, discuss our policy and procedures as well as the various opportunities available and what your interests and expertise might be.
  • All volunteers are required to undergo a background check
  • Once the background check is completed you will be contacted for an interview. If you decide to accept a volunteer position with Martinwood you will be assigned to a team / project.
